Home improvement contractor in San Bernardino County
You’ve heard me on the radio. Let’s talk about your house.
Jerome Gardiner Jr., licensed Class B general contractor, working across San Bernardino County from Rancho Cucamonga out to Barstow.

Meet Jerome Gardiner Jr.
I answer my own phone, and I write down what I am going to do before I do it.
My name is on the truck and on the licence, so when a job goes sideways there is no branch manager to hand you off to. You get me.
I have held a Class B general building licence with the state since 2023, and I have been building in Southern California since 2012. You can look the licence up yourself in about thirty seconds, and I would rather you did.
Every contractor in California is required to carry a bond. Mine is twenty five thousand dollars through Travelers. It is a small thing, but it is the kind of small thing that is either true or it is not.
If the voice is familiar, that is because I have been running spots on KJLH 102.3 for years. That is the whole reason most people call. It is also why I would rather this page prove something than sell you something.
Most of the houses I work on out here went up around 1981. Roofs, panels, ducting and water heaters all reach the end of their lives at about the same time, and the hard part is usually deciding what to do first. That conversation is free.
You Know Me, Jerome!

Do not take my word for it. Check the record.
Here is what a stranger finds when they look me up: an active Class B licence, a current bond, and no complaint disclosure. Here is what they do not find: any rating I have paid for.

What I get called for
-
Kitchen remodeling
Cabinets, counters, the electrical behind them, and the permit that makes it legal to sell the house later.
Permits through the city or county building department
-
Bathroom remodeling
Full gut or a working refresh. Waterproofing gets done properly because it is the part you cannot inspect afterwards.
Typically two to four weeks on site
-
Roofing
Tear-off, deck repair where the sheathing has gone, and a manufacturer-backed system rather than a patch.
Most comp roofs out here are at or past 25 years
-
Heating and air
Replacement, ducting and attic work. The load calculation gets run for your house, not for a house this size.
Title 24 compliance filed with the permit
-
Exterior coating and stucco
Sun-checked stucco repaired before it is coated, because coating over a crack buys you about one season.
Prep is itemised separately on the scope
-
Whole-house and additions
Ground-up builds and ADUs. This is where the Class B licence actually matters, because it is the one that lets me run the whole job.
Class B is the general building classification
Houses built in the early 1980s
Four systems, one decade, all failing at once
- 1981the median build year across most of the tracts I work in
- 40 yrsroof, panel, ducting and water heater all reach end of life at about the same age
- Firstwhatever is letting water or heat in. Everything else can wait a season
How the job runs
The part nobody else publishes
01
You get a written scope before anything starts
Line by line, in plain language: what is being done, what is not being done, and what it costs. If it is not on the scope, it is not in the price, and that cuts both ways.
02
Permits are pulled in my name
On work that needs them, which is more work than most people expect. An unpermitted remodel is a problem you inherit at resale, not at completion.
03
You know who is at the house and when
My crew and the tradespeople I work with have all been on my jobs before. You get told who is coming and what they are there to do.
04
Nothing gets billed that you did not agree to
If we open a wall and find something, work stops and you get a written change order with the cost before it goes any further. You can say no. Houses of this age hide things, and finding one is not a reason to hand you a surprise at the end.

What people said afterwards
I heard him on KJLH for years before I ever called. When I finally did, he set up an appointment and came out the same day. The estimate he handed me was the number I paid at the end.

He found the leak in twenty minutes after two other companies told me the whole roof had to come off.

The county is bigger than nine states. If you are out past Barstow I will still come, but I will tell you on the phone what the drive does to the schedule rather than discovering it together in week two.

You do not need to know what the job is called or what it should cost. Describe what you are seeing and I will tell you what I think it is.
844-534-7336I answer it myself, seven days, from about seven in the morning.
- 1We talk on the phone, or you send this form and I call you back.
- 2I come out and look at it. That visit does not cost anything.
- 3You get the written scope, and the number on it is the number you pay.
