Exterior Remodeling in San Bernardino County, CA
Exterior remodeling built for the sun that does the damage
Eight trades that keep heat and water out of the building, from the roof down to the foundation. The largest category we run, and the one where deferring the work costs the most.
The outside of a house is a system, not a set of surfaces
Roof, walls, windows, doors and foundation are usually sold as separate jobs, and they fail as one. Water that gets past a roof valley shows up as a stain on a wall. A cracked stucco surface lets moisture reach framing. Downspouts discharging beside the house end up as a foundation problem years later.
In this climate the load is relentless and one-directional. Ultraviolet exposure degrades every coating on the building continuously, hardest on the south and west elevations, and there is no wet season long enough to hide the damage. What that means practically is that exterior work is the category where doing it on schedule is dramatically cheaper than doing it after something fails.
So we assess the envelope before quoting any single part of it. Painting over a crack that should have been repaired is not a saving, it is the same job twice.

The order matters more than on any other category
Exterior trades have a natural sequence, and getting it wrong is how people pay twice. If you are planning more than one of these, this is the order to do them in.
- Structural and foundation work first. Anything that moves the building has to settle before finishes go on top of it.
- Roof next. A re-roof involves tearing off, walking the perimeter and handling debris. Doing it after a repaint damages the repaint.
- Windows and doors. Openings get cut, flashed and sealed before the wall surface is finished around them.
- Siding and stucco repair. Every crack repaired before anything is coated, because paint over an unrepaired crack fails at the crack.
- Coating and paint last. The protective layer goes on a surface that is finished, dry and sound.
Full roof replacement in the Los Angeles metro averages about $17,271, with a normal range of roughly $10,256 to $24,963 (Angi, July 2026). No Inland Empire roofing cost publication exists, so those are metro figures rather than local quotes.
