Flooring contractor in San Bernardino County, CA
New floors, with the subfloor sorted out first
A licensed Class B general contractor for tile, plank and carpet across the West End and the High Desert. Tile and finish work is done by our own crew, the slab gets checked before anything is laid on it, and you get the scope and the number in writing before the old floor comes up.
Why homeowners hand us a whole floor
Choosing a tile contractor for a whole house
Forty years of flooring, one layer glued on top of the last
That is the part that decides whether a floor lasts. A slab out of flatness gives you lippage on tile and hollow spots under plank. A live crack telegraphs straight through the grout inside a year. A slab still giving off moisture will lift a glue-down floor no matter what was paid for the material. So the prep is not the boring part of the quote you skim past. It is most of what you are actually buying, and it is written out line by line so you can see it.
What a tile installation includes
What the flooring scope covers
Every line below is written into your scope before work starts, including the preparation, which is where floors are actually won or lost.
- Old flooring, tack strip, staples and adhesive taken up and hauled away
- Slab and subfloor checked for flatness, cracks and moisture before anything is laid
- Floor patch or self-leveling compound where the slab is out of tolerance
- Backer board, waterproofing and crack isolation membrane where they are called for
- Tile, plank or carpet set to a layout we draw and agree before the first piece goes down
- Grout, sealer, transitions and baseboard, and the rooms cleaned before we leave
Start with the written scope
The next step is your job on paper
You have just read how the work runs. The next move is a walkthrough of your house, a written scope of what the job covers, and a schedule carrying the same stages. Ask for all three before you commit to anything.

My wife and I called Jerome directly at Socal Home Improvement. I heard him on KJLH Radio, Station advertising his business. When calling him, he set up an appointment to come out the same day, which was outstanding perfect. I must say on his arrival he was very professional and knew his job very well…

Can you lay the new floor over the one that is already there?
There is a crack in my slab. Does that stop the job?
Tile, luxury vinyl plank or laminate for a house out here?
How much of the price is preparation rather than the floor itself?
Do you move the furniture and the appliances?
Do you do the tile in a bathroom or a kitchen as part of a bigger job?
How your flooring job runs
A written schedule, and what happens once the old floor is up
Schedule of work
We come and look at the floor
We measure the rooms, find out what is already down and how many layers of it there are, and check the slab where we can get to it. There is no charge for this and no expectation that you decide anything on the day.
You get the scope and the number
A written scope, a written schedule and a written number, with the preparation itemized separately from the material so you can see what you are paying for. Nothing is ordered until you sign.
We lay it, and we clean up
Rooms done in an agreed order so you keep somewhere to live, layout drawn before the first cut, and transitions and baseboard finished rather than left. The site gets swept at the close of every day.
If we find something
Opening a wall sometimes turns up rot, old wiring, or a leak nobody knew about. When that happens the work stops and you get a written change order with the new scope and the new number. Nothing further is built until you sign it. You will never learn about an extra cost from the invoice.
Permits are pulled in the licensed name, CSLB # 1105333, and we meet the inspector. That is our job, not yours.
