Outdoor Remodeling in San Bernardino County, CA
A hardscape contractor for a climate you can actually live in
Concrete, pavers, decks, patio covers, fencing and low-water landscaping across San Bernardino County, CA. Outdoor space here is usable most of the year, which makes it the cheapest room you will ever add.
Square footage without a foundation, a roof or a permit fee
An outdoor room costs a fraction of an indoor one because it needs no envelope, no insulation and no climate control. In a climate with this many usable days that is not a compromise, it is the best value on this website. A covered patio gets used more than an interior room of the same size, and it costs a small share of what an addition would.
Two things decide whether it works, and neither is the finish. Shade, because an uncovered slab facing west is unusable from June through September and will sit empty no matter how good the paving is. And drainage, because every hard surface you add is water that used to soak in and now has to go somewhere, and the somewhere is frequently your foundation.
Get those two right and the rest is preference. Get them wrong and you have built an expensive place nobody sits.

How a backyard project usually runs
Most outdoor projects combine three or four of these trades, and the order is dictated by machinery access. Once a deck or a wall is in, getting equipment to the back of the lot becomes the constraint.
- Clearance and demolition. Tree removal and taking out old slabs, while machinery can still reach the back.
- Grading and drainage. Levels set and water routed away from the house before anything is built on top.
- Anything underground. Irrigation, conduit for outdoor power and lighting, sleeves under paving. Cheap now, disruptive later.
- Hardscape. Concrete, pavers and block walls, on the base prepared in step two.
- Structures. Decks, patio covers and fencing, once the ground is finished and access is no longer needed.
- Planting and turf. Last, so nothing gets driven over.
Conduit and sleeves in step three are the single cheapest insurance on this list. Adding power or lighting after a paved surface is finished means cutting it.
